Annual Scholarships and Donations:

Proceeds from its signature program and major fund-raised, the Precious Pearls Cotillion, funds the awarding of scholarships to college-bound high school seniors.  Approximately $20,000 in scholarships have been given annually to graduating high school seniors in Metro Nashville Public Schools and one each from public high schools in Gallatin, Hendersonville, and Columbia, Tennessee. The Scholarship Committee evaluates all applicants on G.P.A. and S.A.T. Scores, school and community participation, financial need, leadership ability and type of diploma earned. In addition, The Ivy Center Foundation of Nashville also makes substantial restricted donations annually to four local colleges and universities for its scholarship programs. Annual scholarship support of over $10,000 is shared by these local Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Tennessee State University, Fisk University, Meharry Medical College, and American Baptist College. TSU, the Chapter’s adopted HBCU receives an annual donation. Fisk, Meharry and American Baptist College receive donations on a rotating basis. Donations to further on-going research have also been presented to Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital.
